At the end of every school year many parents struggle to find a gift for their children’s teachers to show their appreciation, most of them end up gifting yet another mug to said teachers to add to their endless mug collection. Honestly your child’s teachers will appreciate any gesture but if you are going to spend your money on a gift, there are ways to make it special while keeping the price reasonable. Maybe through the many conversations (I hope) you have had with your child’s teachers, you know what could be a great gift for them, but if you need some inspiration, below is a curated just list just for you!
- Umbrella! Teacher Appreciation Week is usually in May, and it is rain season, a purse size umbrella could make a great gift because they get to use it and there’s a chance they do not have 15 other umbrellas that says: Best Teacher Ever! And best of all, you can find umbrellas starting at $10.00!
- Caddy! If you realize you child’s teacher has to pay for most of the classroom expenses, you can fill up a caddy with supplies like markers, Scissors, glues and whatever you notice that classroom needs. New supplies always make teachers happy. You can make this arrangement yourself for $25.00 or less.
- Candles can also make a great teacher gift. I prefer the aroma therapeutic scents with essential oils because Lord knows they need it! My personal favorite is the Silence candle from Saje Natural Wellness, it is made with Lavender, Eucalyptus, Sage and essential oils. Promoting a similar effect as smudging sage in your home but in candle form. The small candle is about $19.00.
- Essential oils can also make a great gift because they are known to relieve stress. Again from Saje Natural Wellness, there are tons of essential oil roll-ons that are under $25.00 that could be beneficial to your children’s teachers. My top two are the Peppermint Halo used to relieve headaches and the Allergy Release to help during allergy season.
- Last but definitely NOT least, GIFT CARDS! You cannot go wrong with this option because a Target gift card has a special place in every teacher’s heart. If you run out of options, don’t have time to shop for a gift or maybe you do not know the teacher that well, you can always get a gift card. If you are going to spend your money on a gift, spend it on something that the teacher can actually use and enjoy instead on a mug that will sit in the cabinet unused.
There are so many other options you can choose from, get creative, celebrate and show appreciation to the teachers in your life. They are sowing many seeds in your babies’ lives, they are gifts that keep on giving.
